Former Alloptic CEO helms FlexLight

FlexLight Networks, a four-year-old vendor of gigabit passive optical networking (GPON) equipment, named Armando Pereira its newest chief executive officer today.
Pereira is the company’s third CEO this year. In January, J. Michael Camp, the former CEO of software firm VocalData, took the top slot, replacing Gary Lee, who became FlexLight’s chief marketing officer.
Pereira is the former CEO and co-founder of Alloptic, a vendor of Ethernet PON gear. Most recently he managed chipmaker Centellium Communications’ optical business. He currently sits on the directing boards of both the Telecommunication Industry Association and the Electronics Industry Alliance.
FlexLight is also relocating its global headquarters from Tel Aviv, Israel, to Silicon Valley in California, it announced today.
