Data Connection, MetaSwitch see revenue jump
more on the topic
Data Connection today announced that its yearly revenue for the fiscal period ending Aug. 31 rose 30% to $68 million.
The jump was driven in part by the company’s MetaSwitch division, which more than doubled its gross revenue from the previous year and contributed 40% of the company’s total revenue.
Metaswitch has seen particularly good traction among U.S. independent telcos adopting its softswitch. For the year ending Aug. 31, the company reported an additional 110 deployments, up from 60 at the same time last year. Most of those have come from incumbents and competitive carriers being run by independents.
Among key events over the past year has been the introduction of a distributed softswitch architecture with the CA9020 Call Agent. That already has been deployed in more than 30 carrier networks.
