Telephony Bolsters Wireless Industry Coverage
more on the topic
Chicago, Ill. – (Nov. 29, 2005) – Telephony magazine, the leading business-to-business publication for telecommunications service providers, is strengthening its wireless coverage and embracing the industry trend toward fixed/mobile convergence by integrating the content and circulation of its sister publication Wireless Review into Telephony. The result will be a more unified and comprehensive view of the telecom industry in the 20 issues of Telephony that will be published in 2006, with a regular focus on wireless-specific issues in an 8-time Wireless Review supplement.
“The telecom industry is increasingly focused on integrated networks that can support a wide array of fixed and mobile service offerings, and we want Telephony’s content to better reflect that,” said Jason Meyers, editor-in-chief of Telephony. “Telephony’s strength is in delivering all-inclusive coverage of every sector of the communications industry, and we will continue to do that in 2006 with a stronger and more comprehensive print and online editorial product. We’ll complement Telephony’s ground-breaking wireless coverage with a regular supplement that allows us to delve even deeper into the industry issues and trends that are most important to wireless service providers.”
Each edition of the new Wireless Review supplement will be devoted to comprehensive analysis of a timely and critical wireless industry topic, and will examine that specific trend through editorial channels such as features, commentary, metrics and Q&A with industry leaders. The technology-focused supplements will be delivered with Telephony to a circulation of nearly 25,000 wireless service providers and wireless professionals. Telephony’s new circulation will expand to reach 71,250 subscribers.*
The content developed for the Wireless Review supplement will reside on Telephony’s Web site in TelephonyOnline.com’s Wireless One-Stop, where it will complement TelephonyOnline’s breaking daily news coverage and other exclusive online content. In addition, Telephony’s Wireless & Wi-Fi Weekly and Wireless Review’s On the Air weekly e-newsletters will be integrated into a single, stronger product called Telephony’s Wireless Review, which will be hosted by Telephony Senior Editor Kevin Fitchard. This weekly e-newsletter will reach over 32,000 telecom and wireless professionals and will launch Dec. 6, 2005.
“Convergence and consolidation are rapidly reshaping the industry,” stated Telephony publisher, Mark Hickey. “In the face of an evolving telecom market, redirecting our focus to meet the challenges of our readers and advertisers is exactly what information leadership is all about.”
