AT&T customers get Web security news

AT&T has developed a new value-added service for its security customers – a 24-hour security news Web channel that distributes information about Internet threats and how customers should respond. The AT&T Internet Security News Network is available exclusively to subscribers of AT&T Internet Protect, the company’s alerting and monitoring service, AT&T Internet Protect.
As managed security services become a mainstay of enterprise offerings, companies are looking for new ways to differentiate what they provide. The ISNN features video and other information from security experts and delivers it on-demand to the customer desktop. According to AT&T, the news network also will provide live emergency broadcasts when security attacks occur, to keep corporate network managements up to date and provide advanced warning of imminent threats such as worms and viruses.
The network will offer twice-daily newscasts as well as lecture series, interviews of experts and training programs.
“We are creating a new standard in Internet security that demands critical, up-to-the-minute intelligence delivered directly to the customer’s desktop,” said Ed Amoroso, vice president and chief security officer at AT&T Inc. “AT&T ISNN is designed to help users understand potential threats and to help them better protect themselves.”
