Fairfield, Mont., telephone cooperative 3 Rivers Communications has selected Pannaway Technologies' broadband access system to deliver next-generation services to its rural subscribers accounting for 20,000 access lines across 29 exchanges.

“Our goal is to deploy an IP Ethernet network that is extremely fast, highly efficient and capable of scaling to support the emerging services that our subscribers will demand”, said Darren D. Moser, General Manager at 3 Rivers Communications, in a statement.

3 Rivers Communications will use Pannaway’s copper and fiber-based access solution to deliver SIP-enabled triple play services including Primary Line VoIP for guaranteed lifeline service and E 911. The vendor's Broadband Aggregation Routers will be deployed in its central office for scaleable 1 Gb/s to 10 Gb/s Ethernet transport. Also, Pannaway's Broadband Access Switches will reside in remote terminals for voice, video and data delivery. The ILEC will also use Pannaway’s Broadband Access Manager to simplify the deployment and provisioning of its new copper and fiber-based broadband equipment and services.

3 Rivers underwent a three-month evaluation process and selected Pannaway over six other manufacturers. Moser added, “We plan to offer digital IPTV and one of our key reasons for selecting the Pannaway solution was its patent-pending primary line technology which is proven to eliminate video corruption, commonly caused by ring trip in a converged voice, data and IP TV environment.”
