more on the topic
AT&T and Comcast have signed a distribution deal that will enable AT&T to deliver Comcast video channels over its U-verse IPTV service.
The deal is the 23rd for AT&T, and the first with a major cable player. AT&T launched U-verse in San Antonio this summer with 200 channels of content.
The AT&T-Comcast deal covers E! Entertainment Television, The Golf Channel, OLN (soon to be Versus), AZN Television, PBS KIDS Sprout, Style Network, G4, Comcast SportsNet Chicago, Comcast SportsNet West and SportsNet New York.
AT&T is rolling out U-verse as it deploys its Project Lightspeed fiber-to-the-node network. The company has promised to be up and running in 15 to 20 markets by year’s end.
