AT&T rolls out Homezone
more on the topic
AT&T, with satellite TV partner EchoStar Communications, began offering its previously announced Homezone broadband service in San Antonio, Texas, and parts of Ohio.
The service is intended to fill in the gaps where the company can't extend fiber for its U-Verse IPTV and broadband access service. The Homezone offerings include broadband Internet access and satellite TV over EchoStar's DISH Network through a set-top box, as well as a number of other broadband applications. The service will be sold in bundles with prices varying from $80 to $140 per month.
The video-on-demand content for the Homezone service is being provided by Movielink. Future content will also be provided by Akimbo, which AT&T announced an investment in last month.
