In two separate announcements, BellSouth said today it is speeding up broadband service delivery for business customers and offering special promotional rebates for consumer customers who buy service bundles.

Businesses that order BellSouth FastAccess Business DSL are now guaranteed installation with five days of placing an order, down from 15, the company said.

Separately, BellSouth is trying to lure customers onto its service bundle by offering cold hard cash. New subscribers get $75 in cash or Visa gift cards for adding DirecTV and DSL service, $50 cash back for just adding BellSouth Ultra DSL or higher-speed DSL or for adding Cingular Wireless service, and $25 for switching to BellSouth Unlimited long-distance service.

Ultra DSL costs $32.95 and offers download speeds of up to 1.5 Mb/s.

“This BellSouth Answers promotion provides customers with increased value, while designing their own communications and entertainment bundles,” said Joey Schultz, vice president of marketing for BellSouth, in a prepared statement. “We offer some of the most comprehensive and competitively priced bundles in the marketplace today, and we are committed to providing customers with choices and control over how they want to communicate.”
