Equant targets small business VPNs

Global service provider Equant is targeting small branch offices and retail locations where there are multiple sites needing capabilities such as supply chain management and customer relationship management, the company said.
Equant’s Small Office Solutions portfolio will offer three different levels of service--Advantage, Select and Premier--and will bundle in the router, the access and IP bandwidth. The service levels are aimed at offices with five, 25 and 50 users respectively.
At the lower end, the service replaces dial-up with broadband access, and at the two higher levels Equant provides service level agreements and broadband access services that can replace leased lines.
GoRemote provides secure management broadband network services and has channel partners that currently sell to the small business market.
“This alliance with GoRemote will enable us to effectively address the requirements of our customers for connecting smaller sites to their corporate VPN, such as in the retail and automotive sectors,” said Dennis Kruse, head of VPN Business at Equant. “Equant is now able to give our customers significantly more choice and value in the U.S.”
