Westchester, Ill.-based Andrew Corp announced that it has acquired Precision Anetnnas, of Stratford, England, for $26 million. The British firm, which had been a subsidiary of Cobham Plc., sells antennas for terrestrial and satellite communications systems.
Precision Antennas designs and produces microwave antennas for point-to-point applications, such as mobile network backhaul, primarily in the European market. In addition, the company produces couplers and earth station antennas.
Precision Antennas had calendar year 2005 sales of $46 million and the transaction is expected to be slightly accretive to earnings over the next 12 months. Precision Antennas' approximately 500 employees at three sites in Stratford now are part of Andrew's Antenna and Cable Products Group.
