AT&T expands Video Share to 160 markets
more on the topic
AT&T announced today that it has expanded its Video Share product to 160 markets, up from the three announced in June, enabling its wireless users to share live video while on a voice call.
The service, AT&T’s first IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) application, enables wireless customers with Video Share-enabled handsets to send live video to other AT&T customers with similarly enabled handsets by initiating an AT&T Video Share call. Once connected, either party can send live video to the other, and both parties can see the video and continue the voice call.
The service is intended to let consumers share experiences, whether vacations, family moments, or shopping suggestions, via video as well as audio. AT&T is promising to bring the personal video experience to PCs and TVs in the future.
Video Share service packages cost $4.99 for 25 minutes a month or $9.99 for 60 minutes a month, or users can pay as they go for 35 cents a minute. Only the video’s sender is charged.
