Intelliverse lays Brix on VoIP

Hosted VoIP provider Intelliverse today said it is adding customer-monitoring to its services, using converged service assurance capabilities from Brix Networks. The goal is to provide a higher level of VoIP quality and to prove the quality of its service.
“It is important for us to always offer customers an array of stand out services that will ultimately increase the quality for users,” said Kevin Moran, president and CEO of Intelliverse, in a prepared statement. “The VoIP market is becoming more and more competitive. By constantly injecting our service with outstanding features and the latest improvements, we are staying ahead of the curve and providing the best possible product to our customers.”
The new capabilities will enable customers of Intelliverse’s Talking Planet and callEverywhere services to perform both passive monitoring of live traffic and active on-demand testing, using simulated VoIP calls.
The active monitoring capability enables a user to test the quality of a call from their location and produce a Mean Opinion Score (MOS), which can be automatically loaded into a customer relationship monitoring system for archival purposes to help diagnose future problems. In addition, Brix verifiers have been added to the Intelliverse network to be constantly monitoring speed on the network and reporting back to central database that allows Intelliverse to analyze the quality of service being provided across its network. At pre-set quality thresholds, alarms will alert the Network Operations Center that a problem is occurring and allow Intelliverse to address the problem.
