Stop number three on Apple CEO Steve Job’s tour of Europe brought news that France Telecom’s wireless division, Orange, will be the exclusive carrier of the iPhone in France. Didier Lombard, CEO of France Telecom, announced the partnership during a conference in Hanoi, saying the phone would be available in November.
Lombard did not disclose the retail price of the French iPhone. However, it is priced at $536 in Britain and $553 in Germany. Partnerships in both countries were announced earlier this week.
In Tuesday’s press conference in London, Jobs said he hoped to sell 10 million iPhones in 2008, representing 1% of the global handset market and far surpassing the 1 million landmark achieved 74 days after launching the iPhone in the U.S.
