CHICAGO. NetCracker Technology said from the show floor at TeleStrategies’ Billing & OSS World that its service and network provisioning solution will help another Tier 1 operator transform its business. Amsterdam’s UPC broadband, Europe’s largest cable operator will transform its service layer using NetCracker’s technology.

UPC has approximately 10 million subscribers across eight countries. The transformation project will span all of UPC’s markets. The cable company provides video, broadband, high-speed Internet access, voice over IP and mobile telephony services to the residential and business segments.

“This is another example of how NetCracker continues to win acceptance in the marketplace, especially in transformational converged environments,” said Donna Bastien, director of marketing at NetCracker.

The NetCracker Service and Network Provisioning solutions includes service and resource inventory. Mehrdad Mansourpour, managing director and chief information officer for UPC Broadband said this as well as NetCracker's integration and service delivery experience in Tier 1 accounts was an important factor in its selection.

NetCracker solutions also are part of major transformation products at Telus, Swisscom and Telstra. “People are coming to us to support changes in how they do business,” Bastien said.
