More than 100 mobile data experts from around the world have converged at the International Institute of Telecommunications in Montreal for an Open Mobile Alliance TestFest focused in part on multi-vendor interoperability of the OMA's IP multimedia subsystem enablers.
The event was scheduled to begin yesterday and will run until Dec. 8. Earlier this year, the OMA selected IIT as a permanent test center for the Americas, according to a statement from the IIT. IIT has hosted two previous OMA TestFests, in January and March of this year.
"We have in our lab the most recent IMS platforms from leading equipment manufacturers," said Louis Brunel, IIT's President and CEO. "The interoperability tests using new IMS platforms that will take place in our network-lab will have an impact on how one will use its mobile devices to access rich, high-quality IP applications in a near future."
