DALLAS--NetScout Systems announced at the TeleManagement World Americas event here the availability of its nGenius platform, the latest evolution in its performance management offerings.
The trade show floor was dotted with performance monitoring companies that are edging into new areas and adding new capabilities to their traditional platforms. NetScout’s contribution to the trend is a platform that uses deep packet inspection of IP traffic routes such as virtual routing and forwarding paths in MPLS networks, and levels of detail that will help carriers manage complex IMS enviornments.
Ngenius can support tens of thousands of measurement points distributed software architecture and network-facing direct intrumentation for speeds up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet and OC-48. It also supports the ability to move between different key performance indicators as part of an overall operational workflow, and includes open interfaces to other operations systems. “It’s really our first entry into the IP OSS space,” said Jim Frey, vice president of marketing at NetScout.
