Consulting and systems integration firm Guidecomm expanded its one-and-a-half year relationship with Micromuse today when the company announced its entry into the Micromuse Developers Alliance program as a Netcool Ready outsourcer.
The company will license Micromuse’s Netcool/Software Developer’s Kit application to create interfaces with the Netcool suite for the service provider marketplace. Micromuse’s Netcool provides network monitoring and service level management capablities.
The first integration will be developed for Granite Systems’ Xpercom with the NetCool Ready solution. Upon completion, the NetCool-Xpercom integrated gateway will provide carriers better network provisioning and monitoring capabilities.
Guidecomm delivers operations support system strategies and solutions. The company joined the Micromuse Developers Alliance to complete integration work using best-of-breed products.
“We’re looking to be recognized as providing OSS solutions to service providers,” said Alan Gilbert, senior director of marketing for GuideComm. Gilbert said. “[Guidecomm] is trying to do that by narrowing the company’s focus. This gives us tangible, service-oriented products that people can associate with us.”
Guidecomm has an established and fairly active alliance or partner program, Gilbert said.
“For us, it’s the lifeblood of what we do,” he said. “We use leading, best-of-breed products to deliver the solutions our clients need. The alliances with vendors are critical to us.”
In addition to Micromuse and Granite, Guidecomm partners include Vitria, Remedy and NightFire. The company is close to finishing alliances with MetaSolv, Portal Software and Clarify.
