HearMe enhances VoIP platform

(Telephony) HearMe today announced a new version of its VoiceSERVER voice-over-IP application platform that includes a number of enhancements. Additionally, the company named two new customers in Centrecom and Telcopoint.
Among the more important enhancements in the latest version of the platform is the ability to write applications for both H.323 and SIP clients. The Mountain View, Calif.-based company also has added instant conferencing, presence management, click-to-call, find me/follow me and voice-enhanced customers relationship management capabilities to the platform.
“Our model really remains a software architecture for rapid deployment of new services,” said Timothy Riley, vice president of business development for HearMe.
Attempting to jump-start the VoIP applications market, the company is offering some pre-packaged applications, including a conferencing package and two call-center applications.
The conferencing solution, ConferenceCREATOR, lets users create spontaneous, multiparty conferences with participants using either a PC or a phone.
“The idea is to have several vehicles for joining, because you’re not always going to be at a desk with a computer in front of you,” said Riley.
The two call-center solutions--VoiceCONTACT and ClickAGENT--integrate presence management, allowing web users to place calls to customer service locations.
