Hybrid cuts staff; focuses on 2G fixed wireless product development

Hybrid Networks, stung by Sprint’s moratorium on broadband fixed-wireless deployment, is cutting 15 positions--about 22% of its staff. The fixed-wireless equipment vendor said it will focus on second-generation technology that Sprint wants to obviate line-of-sight concerns and add portability.
Hybrid said the work force cuts are primarily in general and administrative areas, non-core operations and customer service. They are expected to lower operation costs by about $500,000 per year.
