Hong Kong-based integrated communications company i-Cable Communications will trial voice-over-IP services in 45,000 selected households as part of a joint marketing trial with InnoMedia and Cybersys Computer. If successful, i-Cable will roll out commercial service before the end of the year.

InnoMedia will provide a complete broadband voice system that enables i-Cable to offer an alternative phone service. At the same time, i-Cable can offer value-added IP services via its cable network. Cybersys will provide the technical maintenance and logistical support.
