3:15-4:00 PM Afternoon General Session: How open should I be?
There is a lot of pressure from the Internet industry, regulators and consumers for carriers to “open” their networks, but what does open mean? An Internet company’s idea of open is a lot different from a handset or set-top box maker’s definition of open and it’s probably very different from the customer’s idea of open. On this panel, we’ll define openness and what all of the individual players in this space mean when the say the word. And we’ll explore if carriers truly must become open and just how open they need to be.
