Tekelec has announced a partnership with Convergin, a developer of fixed-mobile convergence technology, under which Tekelec will resell Convergin's Accolade platform as part of Tekelec's Real Convergence IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) offering.

Convergin's Accolade is a core wireless convergence server that will be paired with Tekelec's family of carrier-grade switching products-the Tekelec 9000 Distributed Switching Solution and the Tekelec 3000 Media Gateway Controller to create a solution with comprehensive capabilities in mobile and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) domains. In addition, Convergin is integrating Accolade with the Tekelec 6000 VoIP Application Server to offer SIP-based services across fixed and mobile networks.

With Convergin’s help, Tekelec now can offer core-to-applications IMS-based convergence solutions for either wireline or wireless carriers.
