Covad grabs VoIP spotlight
more on the topic
Covad Communications one-upped Qwest Communications by announcing an even larger national voice-over-IP offering, only a day after Qwest’s national announcement of 100 cities.
The California-based CLEC, which acquired VoIP provider GoBeam earlier this year, is now offering service in 125 major metropolitan markets nationwide, covering more than 900 cities.
The Covad offering includes Covad iPBX, which works with an existing PBX and vPBX, a network-based service, which eliminates the need for a separate voice switch. Both work with Covad’s Dashboard, a Web-based user interface which simplifies the process of managing, upgrading or changing services.
The VoIP service is offered, along with data, over Covad’s national DSL network.
