Global Crossing is using Globalcomm to showcase a network-based voice-over-IP virtual private network service that allows businesses to migrate to an all IP-based network service platform for voice and data services.
Global Crossing VoIP On-Net Plus Service is a network-based service that requires no customer premises equipment and manages protocol conversions between IP and TDM within the network, enabling enterprises to connect all sites over a single VPN, without converting every site to IP. VoIP calls are handled on-net to 600 cities in 60 countries‥
“VoIP On-Net Plus empowers enterprises to reap the … advantages of IP convergence with existing infrastructure,” said Anthony Christie, Global Crossing's chief marketing officer. “Advantages include implementing voice VPNs using a single dial plan, which end users can easily manage through Global Crossing's online portal, uCommand.”
