VON: Ensim’s grand unification theory

SAN JOSE--Voice-over-IP became part of Ensim Corp.’s Unify service delivery platform this week at VON as the company announced support for voice service on the platform and demonstrated support for applications and components from BroadSoft, Sylantro and Microsoft.
Ensim’s Unify platform allows for the creation, control and deliver of hosted IP and application services. Developed in close collaboration with Microsoft, it is designed to address the most critical business and operational challenges of deploying and reselling hosted services, such as bundling and rapid delivery.
“When people decide to launch a service, they want it tomorrow,” said David Wippich, chief operating officer at Ensim.
Sandip Gupta, president and CEO of Ensim, said that enhancements to Unify and the addition of capabilities from the company’s acquisition of TeleGea in May of last year create a common delivery platform for all hosted services.
“Its gives the opportunity for the unified communications space to offer bundles of messaging, collaboration and presence,” Gupta said.
Wippich said VoIP is just starting to hockey-stick and that it is the right time to add VoIP to the unified communications platform. The Unify platform comes pre-packaged with more than 15 IP and application service managers.
Ensim also announced a strategic partnership with Level 3 Communications this week that makes Ensim’s Unify platform a part of Level 3’s (3)VoIPSM Technology Alliance Program (TAP). Ensim will work closely with Level 3 Communications to ensure that VoIP service providers have a streamlined and efficient process for the delivery of VoIP service capabilities.
“We believe in tight partnerships,” Wippich said. “We don’t have a lot of partnerships, but we have very solid ones.”
