This week marks another milestone in the evolution of Telephony's Web publication, TelephonyOnline.com: the addition of our WiMAX One-Stop, a portion of our site devoted entirely to coverage of that developing broadband wireless technology. WiMAX joins several other featured technology sectors, including voice over IP, access, fiber-to-the-premises, broadband services, wireless and software/OSS.

Our rationale in devoting this portion of TelephonyOnline.com to WiMAX is based in part on the popularity of our recent WiMAX webcast and the May 2004 supplement we published in conjunction with the WiMAX Forum. (Look for a follow-up to that effort this spring, in print and as part of our Wi-MAX One-Stop.) Our online WiMAX coverage will continue the mission we started with those efforts, which is to provide timely, relevant and objective content about the challenges and opportunities presented by a nascent broadband format and how it is likely to fit in the service provider future.

In the coming months, we will continue to add One-Stops to our Web site as technology development and market forces dictate. We look forward to your reaction and also welcome your suggestions.
