WiMAX World: Soma to use Sequans chips
more on the topic
BOSTON--Broadband wireless equipment vendor Soma Networks announced today--while 2006 WiMAX World pre-conference workshops were going in advance of tomorrow's show opening--that it will integrate 802.16e-2005 chipsets from Sequans Communications into its Mobile WiMAX products.
The two companies recently worked together at the WiMAX Forum Plugfest, where they demonstrated streaming of multiple, simultaneous traffic flows, in preparation for upcoming Mobile WiMAX 802.16e-2005 certification.
Soma's FlexMAX Mobile WiMAX System uses multi-antenna processing technology including adaptive antenna system and multiple input-multiple output, and the companies said the integration of Sequans' technology will allow lower power consumption and a compact footprint, with the processing power to handle advanced wireless technology and high revenue applications.
