With a new major league baseball season now officially underway, Cingular Wireless and mobile broadcaster MobiTV this week teamed with MLB Advanced Media to launch Mobi-MLB, which will deliver Cingular subscribers live audio from every regular-season game through to the final out of the 2005 World Series.
Available to Cingular customers with Motorola V180, Motorola V220, Motorola V400, Motorola V600, Motorola V3, Sony Ericsson Z500a and Nokia 6620 handsets, Mobi-MLB will feature up to 30 different feeds each day, enabling subscribers to listen to their home team's announcers. Subscribers will also receive a free video channel featuring post-game highlights.
"As the demand for live TV on wireless phones continues to grow, so has the need to stay connected to America's favorite pastime," said Phillip Alvelda, CEO and chairman of MobiTV, in a statement. "This offering will help Cingular to meet the increased consumer demands for premium, mobile entertainment content."
The Mobi-MLB service will cost Cingular subscribers $9.99 per month.
