LAS VEGAS--Siemens joined what is expected to be a parade of announcements about IP multimedia subsystem solutions at the TelecomNext trade show, announcing a fixed/mobile convergence portfolio for sharing multimedia applications over fixed and mobile broadband networks.

The consumer-focused applications include a secure, intelligent address book that is stored on the Siemens IMS so that contact information can be entered a single time, but available via all methods of access. Also, Siemens is offering a netwwork presence-based roaming button feature allowing users to receive all calls and message on whatever device they happen to be using. Another application, call-and-share, allows users to engage in phone conversations with other users and send them data files during the conversations.

The Siemens IMS/FMC solution also includes several hosted applications.
