Mobile device interface developer Digit Wireless today announced the availability of the Fastap LG 6190 phone, the first commercially released mobile device enabled with the company’s Fastap one-touch alphanumeric keypad.

The 12-button Fastap keypad promises users easier and more intuitive creation of text and multimedia messages by enabling them to select letters, numbers and basic punctuation by pressing a single button, as opposed to the "triple-tapping" or predictive text software common to traditional, voice-centric handsets.

Manufactured by LG Electronics, the LG 6190 has been available from Canadian carrier TELUS Mobility since mid-December, according to Digit. The flip phone includes a 300k pixel digital camera with built-in flash, 4X digital zoom and an integrated speakerphone.
