TWC launches Sprint wireless service in Cincinnati
more on the topic
Time Warner Cable this week rolled out its Sprint-powered wireless service in its third market, Cincinnati, launching a quadruple-play service that integrates elements of its cable programming with the mobile content deck.
Time Warner has introduced one of the more sophisticated fixed/mobile convergence platforms between its TV services and the mobile phone, using Sprint TV’s line up of unicast TV stations as a “basic cable” package for wireless users with options for premium channels and on-demand programming. Time Warner also allows customers to browse their channel line-ups and program listings on the mobile phone, though it does not yet allow customers with digital video recorder subscriptions to program the DVRs from the phone--services AT&T made available today through Homezone and Verizon Wireless has been supporting through TiVo.
