Game on for wireless at E3

Mobile entertainment developers further increased their visibility in the electronic gaming sector during this week's E3 videogame convention in Las Vegas, with a number of wireless firms making significant announcements. Among them:
Jamdat Mobile announced a deal with Id Software to bring the latter's hugely popular computer game "Doom" to wireless handsets. Jamdat will launch the game in conjunction with the "Doom" motion picture scheduled for release later this year.
Mforma and Yahoo! Games both announced mobile poker games. Mforma will offer a Texas Hold 'Em game endorsed by the World Poker Tour, while Yahoo! Poker will offer multiplayer action.
Sorrent introduced a spate of new titles including "Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Mobile," "Kingdom of Heaven" and the 2006 edition of its "FOX Sports Football." Sorrent also plans to bring to mobile games developed by The Bitmap Brothers, beginning with "Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe."
Gameloft debuted a series of 3D multiplayer games, including "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Jungle Storm" and "Asphalt: Urban."
Finally, iFone will launch a slate of titles inspired by such classic animated series as "The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle," "Casper the Ghost" and "Roger Ramjet."
