Openwave hires former Verizon exec

Mobile phone software developer Openwave Systems has appointed of Jody Bilney as chief marketing officer of Openwave. Bilney most recently worked at The Charles Schwab Corp., where she held the position of chief marketing officer. She also used to be senior vice president in charge of brand management and marketing communications at Verizon, and president of Verizon's Consumer Markets enterprise.
David Peterschmidt, president and chief executive officer of Openwave, said Bilney's industry experience will greatly contribute to the company's efforts in the broadband and MVNO markets.
