Huawei Technologies has successfully tested a plug-in management interface at its OSS Joint Lab that was developed by Vallent Corp. to integrate Vallent’s performance management solution and Huawei's iManager M2000 element management system for mobile network devices.

The companies are longtime partners. “Huawei is committed to working with Vallent to support the interoperability between our element management system and Vallent’s performance management solutions,” said Xia Ning, vice president for wireless network product line of Huawei. “We will continue to share technical information and support and work together on integration testing in order to deliver more value to our customers.”

The iManager M2000 is a wireless network management system used to manage Huawei WCDMA, CDMA2000 and GSM mobile communication networks. It is used for the operation and maintenance of subnets and can manage the access network, core network and other networking products separately or on a unified basis.

The performance management product from Vallent, which was formed from the early 2005 merger of WatchMark-Comnnitel and Metrica Software Systems, is an out-of-the-box solution that offers support for a wide range of network elements and comes with a standard set of performance management reports. NPR is used to forecast performance trends and predict the effects of network change.
