Microwave Satellite Technologies, a subsidiary of Telkonet, is working with vendor GigaBeam to deploy five wireless fiber links in the 70 GHz to 80 GHz range in New York City for quadruple-play applications that include IPTV, VoIP, Internet access and area Wi-Fi access.

GigaBeam’s point-to-point WiFiber technology operates in the licensed range 71 Ghz to76 GHz, and 81 Ghz to 86 GHz, and is currently capable of 1 Gb/s bandwidth delivery , though the vendor is planning to eventually migrate to 10 Gb/s.
The ring network connects the Trump International Hotel and Tower in Manhattan with Trump residential buildings on the Upper West Side of the island.
