O2 plays numbers game with Evolving Systems
more on the topic
Englewood, Colo.-based Evolving Systems took its number inventory management software to Germany this week and will install the NumeriTrack system for O2.
NumeriTrack will replace a legacy number inventory system to improve data integrity and simplify the management of numbers for mobile, fixed line and VoIP. The system also will help O2 track ported numbers forecast future number requirements and provide full reporting capabilities on the status of all numbers.
Germany implemented wireless number portability in 2002.
Evolving Systems also broke into the Latin American market last month with a contract for its Tertio service activation solution with a major Panamanian carrier. Tertio was acquired in November 2004 for approximately $40.7 million. Through this acquisition Evolving Systems picked up T-Mobile, Hutchinson 3G and Vodafone as customers, which helped the company expand beyond its wireline base.
Evolving Systems closed out 2005 with contract wins with a major U.S. carrier for its Local Number Portability Solution, including its Order Path service order activation and PortExchange products as well as its first order from a mobile operator in Indonesia, which will use its Evident mediation product.
Stephen Gartside, president and chief executive officer of Evolving Systems, said in a statement that the deals continue to demonstrate the company can grow market share in number portability and other numbering solutions domestically and internationally.
